Brixton is a wonderful, vibrant and effervescent place, it even has it's own currency. A rich history of windmills, steam trains, the first electric street lighting, and the arrival of the Windrush in 1948. Today, it’s railway arches are a real hub of activity and daily life. Brixistane [it's medieval name, meaning the stone of Brihtsige] attempts to depict a reflection of Brixton today, within the important backdrop of its past
